What SPF stands for ??? ( from google )

SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. The number you see associated with SPF represents the length of time you can stay out in the sun without burning, multiplied by the corresponding number. So a person who would normally start to burn in 10 minutes, could theoretically have 150 minutes of sun protection with a sunscreen that has an SPF of 15.

Regardless of SPF number, testing of sunscreen does not really correspond to the amount of time you can stay out in the sun without burning because sweating, clothing rubbing against the skin, and water sports will all wear the sunscreen off. Tests also use much more sunscreen than do most people, so SPF number results can be inaccurate. Usually, an SPF 15 rated sunscreen will give your about an hour of protection before you should reapply sunscreen. This, of course, varies from person to person. It also helps to wear protective clothing, hats and sunglasses.

The SPF number only relates to ultraviolet B (UVB) protection. Ultraviolet A (UVA) protection is not measured through SPF numbers, and until recently, frequently was not available in sunscreens. UVB rays are more potent, quicker to produce sunburn, and have been linked to skin cancer. UVA is associated with aging of the skin, and along with UVB exposure, may increase risk or facilitate skin cancer. UVA though milder, is still not safe.

it means...

the time it normally takes you to burn. multiply that by 60.

& thats how long you can stay in the sun without getting burned.

so if you burn in 10 minutes usually.

10x60=600 minutes.

thats how long you can stay in the sun for being protected.

unless you go like swimming or sweat it off.

but spf 60 is very good

Directions:

My Thoughts About It :

DISCLAIMER : First of all I would like to declare that I am NOT AT ALL by any means associated with Hollywood Style USA … I am not getting anything or any favor for my genuine and sincere reviews. I have bought all the Hollywood Style USA products from my OWN money [this also includes my hubby's money , and he is also not working for them , neither he owned Hollywood style USA company ;) ]

So , talking about the product . I am using this sunblock from past 10 years… ( yes I mean it ! ) and I found it greatttttt . I use it on my face , hands and feet ( I love my feet aswell J )

I have an oily skin with breakouts sometimes , but this works great for me .I admit that in the start after applying it on your face you may sweat or feel little bit oily but just dab a tissue for removing that extra oil . But as far as sun protection is concerned , it fulfills its promise totally. And it doesn’t break out my skin . my face skin is extremely sensitive and tends to breakouts easily.

The Lahore climate is extremely humid during summer or rainy season , so you may find it difficult to manage specially if you are in open area. So I used to remove the excess oil with the help of astringent or you can achieve the same goal with a cotton ball wet with rose water and press it on your face with very light hands . You can also re apply the small amount of sunblock if you want . But you don't need these extra efforts if you are spending most of your time in doors.

I have tested it during my visits to Saudia Arabia . So luckily I got the chance to test this sunblock in extremely hot and dry weather with no or less humidity , and believe me this sunblock worked as a magic . My skin was literally glowing and I was not all sweating or my face was totally oil free. And my face become clearer day by day which means that sun wasn't much affecting my face. And I was most of the time was in full sun light .

One of my friend have tested it while swimming and she loved it as well . As she didn’t get tanned at all .( Pakistani girls don't like to get tanned mostly ) .

I used to apply it under my foundation in winter as well , as it helps preventing me from drying skin in winters.

Great Product and a must have if you don't want to get sun burn.
Great price , easily affordable.
You can use it while swimming .
This product is like heaven if you live in a dry hot weather.
You can use it for your whole body and it will work as efficiently .
Unlike other sunblocks who protects from UVA only ,It gives you high coverage against UVA rays(aging), UVB rays (burning) and UVC rays (constant).
It also gives you a slight coverage.( sometimes I just apply little bit concealer and face powder above it for a natural look)

Cons

It can make you sweat a lot ( depending on your skin n climate)
You may feel little bit oily after its application.

Would I recommend It ?

Definitely Yes …. until I find other great sunblock who can beat this one in performance.Till then … Yes to HOLLYWOOD STYLE USA SUN BLOCK .

Today I shall be reviewing Whitening Cleanser by Hollywood Style USA. I started using it from last three months but I wanted to get satisfied totally by the product and then write a review on it. So here I am reviewing this wonderful cleanser Hope you like it and find it helpful.

Hollywood Style USA says:

Our chemists have formulated this luxurious cleanser with brightening and whitening actives. With regular cleansing, dark and uneven pigmentation, freckles, and age spots will gradually become lighter and complexion will radiate with natural beauty. Dull, lifeless skin begins to glow and look more youthful and fresh.

Professional beauty tips: Apply cleanser with cotton ball to to face and neck , rub gently for few minutes , then rinse skin thoroughly. For best results , use whitening cleanser every morning and night.

My thoughts about it:

I was in desperate need of a good cleanser that can mainly work as a make up and dirt remover .I was already using some other Hollywood Style USA products before and found them great .So, I decided to check their cleanser.

I bought this cleanser not for the whitening effects but for the fact it could lighten minor blemishes and make my skin on the face appear flawless and glowing alongwith removing make up and dirt from my face . And to some extent , has lived up to my expectations.

Best part about this cleanser is that it suits all skin types and hence there is no need to actually think twice before buying it. It did not break out my skin.

How to Use :

Just squeeze a little amount into palm and apply it to wet face , gently massaging into lather (I usually count for 60 seconds, I know that sounds crazy ) and then rinse well.

Even its cost is very reasonable. Yes, if you mainly want a makeup and dirt remmover it will do its job but it wouldn’t make you a whitening beauty overnight. I wouldn’t recommend using it alone for whitening your skin tone , for that you have to follow Hollywood Style USA complete whiteninh beauty line. Denim trends 2011

Denim, the true “fabric of our lives”. and the epitome of versatile, I’m willing to bet that most of you have owned more that 30 pairs in your lifetime thus far, and probably have at least 3 pairs in your closet right now (or 10 pairs if you’re crazy like me).

The great thing about denim is that they come at every price point, and no matter how little you paid for them, they’re still just as durable as premium brands. Designer denim is one of my weaknesses, but I have a few pairs from American Eagle as well. Try to go for really trendy pairs, like boyfriend jeans, and spurge on more classic cuts that won’t go out of style any time soon.

Skinny jeans have dominated the scene for the last 5 years or so, with new designs like jeggings and patterned leggings popping up as well. Boyfriend jeans emerged within the celebrity crowd, but were limited to the uber daring girls–definitely not mainstream. Last year, focus shifted to skinny cargo and harem pants, garnering the attention of the fashion world.

2011 I feel is the year of denim. 70′s trends are making a comeback, as well as a “return to luxury,” bringing trouser and bell bottom styles to retailers across America. Frustrated that trends have rebounded so quickly? I’ve written a refresher course on the easiest ways to wear popular denim cuts…

Classic Boot Cut

These jeans are fitted through the thigh, and looser around the calves allowing for room for a tall shoe (like a boot) to fit underneath (thus, boot cut). These are the most neutral cut of jeans you can own, and will never go out of style. Buy a mid-rise pair for the most flattering fit, and own a longer pair and shorter pair to wear with both heels and flats.

The great thing about these jeans is that they’re so easy to dress either up or down. You can wear these with literally everything in your closet. This outfit would be great for a night on the town–the heels and chandelier earrings dress up a basic pair of jeans and sweater.

Skinny Jeans

I have a feeling that these common jeans aren’t going anywhere, especially in trickle-down states like us in Oklahoma. These jeans fit snugly throughout the entire leg, making them ideal to wear with a tunic or tucked into boots. Jeggings look similar and are more comfortable, but personally I hate them–they just aren’t flattering and are not an excuse to wear leggings as pants. Never throw yours out–even though the style may come and go, their shape is perfect for wearing with all of your favorite boots.

With skinny jeans, it’s important to have bulk on your upper half to balance out fullness in your hips. A blousy floral top and boyfriend blazer does the trick. Rock your skinnies with a pair of riding boots, and finish with chic jewelry.

Wide-Leg Trouser Jeans

I LOVE this new style of jeans! The trick is to find a pair that’s loose throughout the leg, fitted on your butt, and mid-rise to keep you from looking stumpy. Dark washes can easily be dressed up for smart casual occasions. If you’re short, pair these jeans with heels to elongate your legs, but I think they look cool with flats as well.

This look is preppy and a bit nautical inspired! These wide leg trousers will look laidback-cool with a soft striped v-neck and cozy cardigan. Dress it up with a necklace and headband, and finish with satin red ballet flats.

Boyfriend Jeans

The main difference between wide leg jeans and boyfriend jeans are their fit through the hips and tailoring at the bottom. Typically, wide leg trousers will be very fitted at the hips and neatly tailored at the hem, often with a wide cuff. Boyfriend jeans are loose and “boy cut” on top, while the bottoms are rolled up to the length of one’s choice. Boyfriend jeans should be worn with a fitted top and girly shoes to keep from looking sloppy or masculine.

Boyfriend jeans often need to be worn with a belt to keep them from falling off. Tuck in a ruffled top and pair with a fitted jacket. A great pair of wedges will keep the outfit looking stylish and pulled together. Finish with a beanie and cuff bracelet.

High Waist Jeans

Jessica Simpson might have given these jeans a bad rep, but they can be really flattering when wore correctly–as in, with a thinner belt and blousey top. It’s essential to wear this style with a thin heel! If you have a fuller midsection, you should probably skip this trend. It looks best on hour-glass figured girls.

This is what Jessica Simpson SHOULD have worn that fateful day. High waisted jeans that are also really wide cut is too much denim–look for boot cut versions. Tuck in a full top, and wear with a belt to accent your waist. Finish with a pair of peep toe pumps and fancy cuff bracelet.

New Bell Bottoms

Instead of the ragged pair worn my hippies, think of the tailored cuts of the 70′s. These new flared jeans are made to be worn with sky-high heels. I absolutely love these jeans because they’re so flattering on any body type, and make your butt look SO good. Try these jeans out with a loose sweater or trendy cropped top.

Work modern bell bottoms with any top in your closet, but I love the look and feel of the distressed sweaters that have been popping up everywhere. Play up the counterculture vibe with a hairband and retro pair of clogs.

My thoughts about it:

In summers specially, I used to have some breakouts and pimples problems occasionally. As i mentioned earlier in my review about Anti-Bacterial Gel Wash by Hollywood Style USA ,I was using Clearasil Daily Face Wash before and I don’t know why but it wasn’t available in the store for quite some time and I was out of stock for it. Then I decided to use something else. I know it’s risky but it was worth it. I was already using some other Hollywood Style USA products before and found them great (will post their review soon) .So, I decided to check their face wash range. They have quite a range for face washes but my picks were Antibacterial Gel Wash (review here) and Ex-foliating Daily Wash - Professional Formula .

As i have already done my review on Anti-bacterial Gel wash, toady i am going to talk about their another great face wash i.e : Ex-foliating Daily Wash - Professional Formula.

Daily exfoliation is something I have read many good things about.It is recommended by many experts to gently Ex-foliate your skin on almost daily basis . Even some says its good to gently ex-foliate your skin in the morning and in the night to clean your skin to remove dry, flaky skin; dead cells, oil and dirt from deep within the pores.

This facewash has smooth, white exfoliating granules . These are quite small and smooth making it gentle enough for daily use. This face wash does not excessively dry the skin, at the same time giving your skin a clean and refreshed feeling. The freshness lasts for almost half a day which is quite good compared to other face washes I have tried. I however, have my doubts as to whether this is actually soap free as it foams generously. It has a mild, pleasant smell.

I have an Oily skin . A face wash that removes oil well but leaves your skin very dry, can cause your skin to produce even more oil in defense to the dryness, thus causing more oiliness and probably pimples.

This face wash however, seemed perfect for all my needs. It gently ex-foliates my skin , removes dead cells , as well as oil and dirt from deep within the pores and at same time it balances my skin moisture without letting it over drying , which protects from breakouts and pimples as well.

How to Use :

Just squeeze a little amount into palm and apply it to wet face , gently massaging into lather (I usually count for 60 seconds, I know that sounds crazy ) and then rinse well.

Pros - Professional Formula by Hollywood Style USA

This is like a face wash and a mini scrub combined in one. Saves time when in a hurry.
The granules in this face wash are effective for exfoliation, yet gentle enough for daily use.
Does not dry out my dry areas and leaves my skin clean and fresh.
Neutral scent which I like. I generally do not have a liking for heavily perfumed skin care products.
Comes in like tube with a flip cover that shuts tight. Hygienic, convenient to use and easy to carry around in your handbag.
Also has some nourishing and hydrating power. On the days when I don’t want to use moisturizer, I use this and leave my skin alone without worrying about excessive dryness.
Little amount is sufficient for the face and neck.
Price is very affordable

Cons- Professional Formula by Hollywood Style USA

Although this is good enough for daily exfoliation, those who prefer a heavier exfoliation may not find it good enough. Not effective on my stubborn dead cells in the corner of nose and chin
Not very useful blackhead prevention as I do get them on my nose every now and then in spite of using this.
Doesn’t seem like soap free to me although Hollywood Style USA claims it to be.

Would I recommend it?
Definitely YES for Less Sensitive OILY or combination skin .

Quit Tip For Pimples : I read this tip in a newspaper and successfully tried it .Just take a Chalk ( used to write on blackboards ) crush it and make a powder of it then add little amount of water and make a paste . Apply it on pimples one by one and leave it for overnight. In the morning you will definitely see a noticeable change ( sometimes the size of the pimple get reduced , sometimes I get a flatten skin *fortunately* and one thing for sure is that there will be no more pain as it will dry out your pimples .. just try it and do tell me if it works for you as well :) )
